Hey there – I’m Emily (she/her), the owner of Arlo & Company.
This beautifully silly creature beside me is my girl Arlo, a.k.a. my inspiration.
I have always adored animals, and my time working as a pet sitter & dog walker has only strengthened that love. While missing my own family pets when I moved away for university, I joined a local company as a dog walker. That was back in 2018 – and I’m still at it!
Nothing makes my heart happier than a strong bond between a pet and their person. As Arlo’s guardian, companion, and care-taker I know how important it is for us humans to trust those who are responsible for our animals’ wellbeing – from their veterinarian to their babysitter.
For pets with special needs, that trust becomes increasingly important.
Arlo is reactive; she is wary of strangers and other dogs. From the beginning, we knew that traditional kennels and doggy day care services were not going to be an option for our girl to be safe and happy when we were away from home.
That’s why I started Arlo & Company. To provide relationship-based pet care through personalized service, unique to each animal’s needs! Gone are the days of crowded pack-walks, impersonal kennel stays, and anxiety-invoking dog parks.
If you’re ready to meet your pet’s new favourite babysitter, check out my services here. I look forward to meeting you and your fur family!

Arlo & Company would not be possible without the support and guidance from some pretty incredible people in my corner.
To my parents, for agreeing to bring home the awkward shelter dog from Brampton SPCA, who turned out to be the dog of a lifetime. Thank you for giving Tayves the most incredible life, and for fostering the most incredible life for your human kids all the same.
To Tayves, the dog who showed me the depth of connection that is possible between a dog and their people. Rest easy, buddy. We miss you.
To Greg at TuxedoMutt, who gave me my first official dog walking & pet sitting gig. Thank you for trusting me, and for offering your continued guidance and support to get this little business of mine off the ground.
To Lucy, Sue & the team at Dogs In the Park, without your support and infinite wisdom, I would not be the guardian to Arlo that she needs. The knowledge gained through your Good Dog program quite literally changed my life, and Arlo’s. For that I will forever be grateful.
To my amazing partner, Josh – thank you. For everything. Arlo and I are so damn lucky to have you in our lives. I love you.
To my girl, Arlo – this is for you sweetheart! I gotta make some money to buy you treats. Sorry that I come home smelling like other animals all the time. Thank you for enthusiastically welcoming me home each time regardless.
With all my love & gratitude,
